Isn't it funny that waking up on a Monday knowing I only have 4 more wake-ups before vacation makes it sooooo much easier? And who really wants to work when vacation is on the horizon. Certainly not me which is why you can find me here instead! I have to do 2 weeks of work in 4 days, should be interesting. And would be much easier if I would just buckle down and do it already!
On the vacation topic, the story is this - we are leaving Friday morning for Florida. Madi, as far as I know, has no idea we are going. We plan to wake her up in the morning as we do every morning for school. But instead of the nagging to get going for the regular routine it will be for a road trip. I can't wait to see her face.....and to find out if she was onto us the whole time. She's been unable to watch any Disney ads because they are "too painful" and is harping about how February is a good time of year to go, why wait until October (when our next known trip is planned). I think I might be more excited to pull the wool over her eyes then the trip itself. Wait, strike that....not true.
If you know how I am, you probably know I'm an OCD packer as well as an over packer. Do you have any idea how hard it is to pack in secret? I have the suitcases all opened in the attic with as many clothes that I can stash away without being detected as possible. This isn't how I operate, I need to lay things in piles and strategize. I guess I'm going to have to wing it. Thank goodness for a washer & dryer in the room!
I do however need to stop looking at the 10 day forecast. The temps are going from 80 to 70 and now 66 the day we arrive. I know, I shouldn't whine, it's February in Florida so the only thing you can predict is that it will be unpredictable! At least there are palm trees and heated pools! I can wear flip flops and I'll be a happy girl. Now only 5,760 minutes to go! I'm ready, let's roll!
