Day 8 - Water

Whoops I forgot my post yesterday. My bad. Does this count as another fail in the challenge? Oh well. I've never been so good with abiding by the rules.

Water was the theme for "today". What I'd really prefer to post is ocean water which is my #1 but it's supposed to be a photo taken on the day of the challenge. Being as I'm not close to the ocean (dagabit) I had to use what was available which is the
pond down the street.

This was taken on the fly, driving by the pond with camera (aka phone) out the sunroof. A little lopsided but I got it! Whoot!!

Madis Sculpey Fun

Some way, some how Madi discovered mamegoma which is some type of Japanese character. She creates all sorts of Sculpey clay creations. Not just of mamegoma but all sorts of stuff. She blows my mind with the stuff she creates and how precise she is. I am so impressed with her creativity.

This batch was mostly mamegoma related charms. I am told one scene is a sweets factory with unruly mamegoma. The other has a chubby mamegoma eating marshmallows. Isn't it just incredible!!

Day 7 - Silhouette

Well this one doesn't require a whole lot of discussion. As silhouette was the word, I interpreted it as shadow and went with that. So.....taaaa daaaaaa....here it is!

Day 6 - Sunset

Well I power napped yesterday during my window of opportunity for this challenge. I guess that means I failed the challenge huh?? Oh well I'm picking up where I left off. The sun setting atop Day Street....

A new Higgins

My little baby cousin Adam is someone's husband - well, he has been since last summer, nothing new there. The news is that he and his adorable wife Erika are expecting a baby so we went to her baby shower yesterday.

Adam is my cousin on my dad's side of the family.  They live about 2 hours away in Limerock out on the western side of the state.  For reasons none of us are able to understand, we don't see each other all that often - except lately with all of the showers and weddings they have going on! Its quite fantastic.

I can't say that I was overly thrilled to hear they were forecasting 3-4" of snow this morning.  Ya, all set with that!  The ironic part is that Adam's sister Melissa's wedding was on the freak October blizzard.  I think this family needs to stop planning family events, they seem to make it snow!  As it turns out, the forecast was wrong. GASP!!!  I know, shocking right? There was some snow, but nothing of any significance.

The shower was very nice and it was a great opportunity to see the family.  The ride out there is so beautiful.  Between the bright colors of the baby green leaves and the snow in the mountains the views are just breathtaking.

It was a great day and I am very happy to have a new baby Higgins join the family!  Congratulations to Adam and Erika!

Day 5 - Books

Today we went to my cousin Adam's new bride Erika's baby shower. It was a lot of fun and nice to see that side of the family!!

My photo topic for today was books. Had I thought of it I would have taken a picture of the baby book I bought for Erika. Duh me!!!

Instead these are books from Aunt Jackey's house. We stopped there after the shower. They had the warmest, crackling fire going. Heaven! There is something so relaxing about a fire! Anyway....these are books ;)

Day 4 - Breakfast

I am a HUGE supporter of convenience type food. Who am I to question multi-million dollar companies who've invested millions and tested recipes to the point of perfection. I use pre-made frozen waffles, box cake mix, Bisquick, etc. Do some of these things cost more then making them from scratch? Absolutely. But the time I save by using some of these items far outweighs the cost! When I'm already up at 5 am to get everyone up, ready & out the door, making waffles from scratch just ain't gonna happen!

So....this is today's breakfast. Frozen waffles, fresh strawberries, syrup and whipped cream. Hey - it's dairy so it counts as a breakfast food!

Day 3 - Clouds

Well there were MANY clouds to capture today. The hard part was choosing which one to use!! This is what I'm going with (no take backs)....

Day 2 - Shoes

Ah a topic near and dear to my heart....shoes. Sometimes one picture isn't enough so I just combined them all into one. It counts right??

There are all kinds of these "challenges" everywhere you look!! I figure being a photo taking addict how can I NOT play along right????

This was taken whole on a rare mid-day afternoon escape from the office. I was aggravated and needed some water and sun. The closest option was The Cove in Wethersfield.

So there we go.....1 day down 29 to go!!
